Dr. Miranda currently serves as Dean of the College of Nursing at Manila Central University (MCU), a position he has held since 2013. With more than 23 years of experience in nursing education, he has dedicated his career to nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals while upholding the legacy of his alma mater. His academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Arts in Nursing (Administration and Supervision) from MCU, complemented by doctoral studies in Nursing Education major in Leadership and Management at St. Paul University Manila.
National and Global Contributions
Dr. Miranda’s leadership extends beyond academia:
- National President (2022–2023) of the Philippine Nurses Association, Inc. (PNA), representing the Philippines in the International Council of Nurses (ICN).
- Pioneer delegate in the China-ASEAN Higher Nursing Education League (CAHNEL), strengthening international collaboration in nursing education.
- Founding officer and Treasurer of the Association of Men in Nursing of the Philippines (AMNP), the only international chapter of the American Association of Men in Nursing.
- Active contributor to the Department of Health and Professional Regulation Commission, serving on technical advisory groups and councils that shape evidence-based practice and career progression frameworks for nurses.
Scholarly and Professional Impact
Dr. Miranda’s research, including his publication “Filipino Next Generation Nurses as Frontliners Amid COVID-19 Pandemic: A Husserlian Phenomenology Study” in the Philippine Journal of Nursing, has gained international recognition. His work reflects his advocacy for evidence-based practice and his commitment to elevating nursing scholarship.
