The Future of Game Development in the Philippines and ASEAN
Game development in the Philippines and the ASEAN region has seen tremendous growth, driven by increased government support, educational initiatives, and a thriving indie game development community. The industry is no longer just about entertainment—it now plays a key role in education, healthcare, training, and cultural storytelling.
With the rise of eSports, mobile gaming, and serious games for education, Southeast Asia is becoming a hub for digital creativity. As Director for Game Development at GSOME, Mr. Maglaya is expected to champion innovative educational approaches, integrating game-based learning and XR technologies into modern pedagogy.
A New Chapter for GSOME’s Game Development Initiatives
Under Mr. Maglaya’s leadership, GSOME aims to bridge the gap between game development and education, ensuring that students and educators alike harness the power of interactive media to enhance learning experiences. His vision aligns with GSOME’s mission to revolutionize modern education through inclusive and globally relevant learning strategies.
